  • What Is Lymphedema?
    ​Lymphedema is a chronic condition where excess lymphatic fluid collects in the tissue spaces, causing edema. While there is no absolute cure for lymphedema, significant progress has been made in the management of the disease.
  • ​Common Symptoms:
    • Tightness of Skin
    • Clothes and Jewelry Feeling Tighter
    • Swelling Comes and Goes
    • Swelling Worsens Throughout the Day
    • Numbness or Tingling
    • Decreased Flexibility
    • Heaviness
  • Primary Lymphedema can be present at birth or develop during puberty or adulthood.  The cause of primary lymphedema is not known

    ​Secondary Lymphedema is caused by damage to the lymph nodes or vessels from surgery, radiation, trauma, and even some medications
