What is an "ACCUTAB"?

Have you ever heard your lymphedema therapist or your compression fitter mention an "ACCUTAB"?  Let's take a minute to learn more about what the purpose of this handy little piece of velcro does!
Picture
This is an "ACCUTAB" and it's made by a company called Sigvaris, a fantastic company that makes some of the best compression products on the market.  This small tab plays a vital role in the proper function on a compression wrap.

With an ACCUTAB, a compression fitter or lymphedema therapist can easily set the desired resting compression level for that specific garment, either at 20-30 mmHg, 30-40 mmHg or 40-50 mmHg.

Accutabs attach to Sigvaris' "Compreflex Lite" garments (shown below).

HOW DOES ACCUTAB WORK? ACCUTAB helps patients tighten their garment straps correctly by correlating the pull force applied to a strap to specific pressure indication lines on the tab.

In other words, it makes sure you don't over tighten your garments, ensuring you get the right level of compression your therapist or fitter wants for you to be able to control your swelling.

Active Life compression fitters are all specially trained by Sigvaris on the Compreflex Lite and the ACCUTAB.  We offer the entire line up of Sigvaris products and would love to have you come in for an evaluation to make sure you're getting the right compression products for your needs.
